Over 350 Pre-sales Purchased to Society of Sin’s 3/25 Revamped Batman Burlesque Show!
NEW ORLEANS, March 22, 2016 – New Orleans-based burlesque and variety troupe The Society of Sin is revamping their very first theatrical production, a comedic Batman-themed show titled “Arkham ASSylum: A Batman Burlesque Play.”
“Arkham ASSylum,” written/produced by Xena Zeit-Geist and co-produced by Cherry Bombshell, is currently scheduled to run for only one night, Friday, March 25, at Eiffel Society (2040 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, La.) for two showings—one at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.) and the other at midnight (doors at 11 p.m.). Tickets are going quickly, with over 350 total presales purchased as of Monday, March 21. General admission tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with only 8 tickets remaining to the early show. VIP tickets to both shows sold out three weeks ago, and there are no more available whatsoever.
“This show has a very special place in my heart,” said Xena Zeit-Geist, Founder/Artistic Director of The Society of Sin and writer of “Arkham ASSylum.” “This was the very first show I ever wrote and produced, and it sold out all twelve nights we put it on, even in Jackson, MS to a crowd of over 300. Its success, along with the support and encouragement of original cast members, like Cherry Bombshell and Remy Dee, was what inspired me to found The Society of Sin.”
Zeit-Geist also explained that the show has had some major revamping since it first hit the stage two years ago. “We have a completely all-star cast this time around, including Gogo McGregor (Vixens & Vinyl, Bustout Burlesque) as the Joker and Bella Blue (The New Orleans School of Burlesque) as Catwoman. Everyone’s costumes have gotten amazing makeovers—many of which were even designed and created by the performers themselves. We have new props and set pieces thanks to Chére Noble (Bustout Burlesque) and Cherry Bombshell to add some character to each villains’ cell. We’ve also added in some new characters, including appearances by Mr. Freeze and Batwoman. I can’t wait to see how our audience reacts to the changes!”
“Arkham ASSylum” features Stevie Poundcake hosting as Riddler, Xena Zeit-Geist as Batman, Cherry Bombshell as Robin/Poison Ivy, Gogo McGregor as Joker, Remy Dee as Harley Quinn, Lydia Treats as Penguin, Danger Rockwell as Scarecrow, Angie Z as The Mad Hatter, Queenie O’Hart as Mr. Freeze, Bella Blue as Catwoman, Nikki LeVillain as Batwoman, and Charlotte Treuse as Commissioner Gordon. Crew members include Chére Noble stage managing, promotional photography by Kriss Hoffman (Savage Light Studios Photography) and tech by Amen Five.
