The Society of Sin:
New Orleans Burlesque, Comedy, & Live Action Fan Fiction

Founded by Xena Zeit-Geist in 2014, The Society of Sin is a group of New Orleans burlesque and variety performers known for creating burlesque shows with a narrative. Our tantalizing strip teases are often part of a larger story, like any play you'd come to the theater to see — except with a lot more nudity. Though the Society of Sin specializes in burlesque plays, we produce variety shows with acts that include sideshow, drag, comedy, singing, dancing, and neo-burlesque, and we also love a good classic burlesque show every now and then. 

 

Our troupe includes performers of all shapes, sizes, colors, genders, ages, backgrounds, orientations, and lifestyles. We are strong believers that all bodies are sexy and that the art of burlesque is about expressing beauty in its many different forms.

 

While our performances are sexy by nature — we do usually get mostly naked — we love to play with the art form, incorporating comedy into our shows and sometimes even political commentary. We especially love nerdlesque, and are, in fact, best known for our geeky burlesque plays, such as our Batman burlesque play, "Arkham ASS-ylum," our Harry Potter Burlesque Play, "Harry Potter & the Bedchamber of Secrets," and our annual extravagant pop culture-inspired burlesque extravaganza, "Nerdlesque!," sponsored by Wizard World Comic Con. 

 

The Society of Sin hopes to perform nationally and someday even internationally.
